Effective: May 5, 2026
Tine is a private journal for the wood you have worked, and a shared field for the wood you have spotted. The journal is yours; the field is shared with other carvers, on the terms set out below.
Carvers aged 16 or older may use the service. By signing up, you represent that you are at least 16 years old. Operating an account on behalf of someone under 16 is not permitted.
While using Tine, you agree not to do any of the following.
You retain all rights to your journal data and to your private pins. Tine claims no license to either, and journal data and private pins are hard-deleted from Tine when you delete your account.
For public field pins, you grant Tine a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to display the wood-record portion of those pins (coordinates, label, photos, and notes attached to the pin) to other Tine carvers, for as long as Tine operates. The license is limited to in-product display. It does not extend to modification, sub-licensing, sale, or any use outside Tine.
Deleting your account anonymises but does not revoke the license to your public pins. The wood-record content stays with the field; attribution to you is replaced with “a former carver”.
You are responsible for keeping your password and your recovery key secure. Do not share your account credentials with anyone, and do not impersonate other carvers. If you set an email address, please keep it current so that account notices and password-reset messages reach you.
You may delete your account at any time via Settings › Delete account. Carver-initiated termination is immediate.
Tine may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, with reasonable notice where practical, and with immediate termination for severe violations.
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. The operator is not responsible for the accuracy of carver-submitted content, including pin coordinates, species guesses, and notes. The service does not replace professional advice on woodworking, foraging safety, or land-use law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Tine, the operator, and any contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, whether arising under contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
If you reside in a jurisdiction whose consumer-protection rules apply to you regardless of choice of law (for example, the European Union), those mandatory rules continue to apply, and nothing in these terms removes the rights they grant you.
A future revision of these terms may name a specific governing jurisdiction and venue. This revision does not.
These terms may be updated. The Effective date at the top of this page marks the current version. Continued use of Tine after a published update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
A public contact channel for questions about these terms will be added in a future revision.
